Adjective Phrase (विशेषण वाक्यांश)

Adjective (विशेषण)  - A group of words that comprising of adjective.

Adjective Phrase (विशेषण वाक्यांश)  - Adjective phrase tells more about noun or pronoun.


Example-

The dog covered in mud is mine.

Here,

Noun - dog

Adjective phrase - covered in mud


Adverbial Clause (क्रियाविशेषण खंड)

An adverbial clause is a group of words that function as an adverb and that contains a subject and a verb.


Example -

When the sun rises, we will escape.

Here,

Subject - the sun

Verb - rises

Adverbial clause - When the sun rises


Noun

A noun is a part of speech that modifies name of a person, place, thing, idea, action or quality.

Examples

Rahul, Tajmahal, Chairs, etc.


Types of Noun

1. Uncountable Noun

2. Countable Noun

3. Common Noun

4. Proper Noun

5. Concrete Noun

6. Abstract Noun

7. Compound Noun

8. Collective Noun


Here we discuss what is countable nouns and uncountable nouns.


Uncountable Nouns - 

Anything that cannot be counted is an uncountable noun.

Uncountable nouns are not individual objects, so they cannot be counted.

Uncountable nouns are little, a little.

Example- 

There is no more water in the pond.

Here, 

Uncountable noun - water


Use of "Little"

We use little with uncountable nouns.

We use little as an adjective to mean 'small'.

Example

He's a lovely little baby.


Use of  "a little"-

We use a little with singular uncountable nouns.

We use a little as pronouns.

We use a little before adjective and adverbs to modify them.

We use a little as an adverb of degree.

Examples

He smiled just a little.

Her hands were shaking a little.

I always enjoy a little cream and sugar in my coffee.


Countable Nouns -

Anything that can be counted, whether singular - a dog, a house, a friend, etc or plural - a few books, lots of oranges, etc. is a countable noun.

Countable nouns are individual people, animals, places, things or ideas which can be counted.

Countable nouns are few, a few.

Example-

Your book is on the kitchen table.

Use of few

We use few with plural countable nouns.

Example:

Few people arrived early.


Use of "a few"

We use a few with plural countable nouns.

We use a few as pronouns. 

Example:

There were a few horses grazing in front of the barn.

There are two types of letter:

2. Formal Letter


Informal letter
